Pipe Drilling Machine
An automated system for drilling radial holes into sections of pipe at any point on their length, anywhere around their circumference. This machine was created for a company who specializes in making playground equipment, it allows them to simply make a CAD model of the pipe section, feed it into the control system, and generate a series of identical pipes that can then be used for assembly.
This system is capable of handling pipe lengths from 2 ft to 20 ft with the carriage traveling at 7 feet per second along the length, and will always drill the hole normal to the face even if there is a local deformity or bend.

Our customer has estimated that the system has increased productivity in this area by about four times and will allow them to recover the cost of the machine within 8 weeks.
