Nail Strip Machine

A  fully automated system for generating the nail strips used to hold the edges of carpet. The only input requirements are a supply of nails and stacks of plywood, all subsequent steps are automated right up until the final product reaches the end of the line.
After a load of plywood has been delivered, the first sheet is picked up by a suction cup system which carries it forwards onto a conveyor. From there the sheet is directed into a machine which cuts it into strips as it passes through. The strips are then carried to the nailer which inserts 120 nails per second to make a box of 100 Smooth Edge Strips in 50 seconds.

Below are some short videos showing the movements involved in the machine followed by  an image gallery to illustrate the intricacy of the nailing system.
